Call Before You Dig

Before starting any digging project, it’s important to call 811 at least 48 hours in advance to have underground utilities properly marked. This free nationwide service helps prevent accidents and damage by identifying the location of buried gas, electric, water, sewer, telecommunications, and cable lines.

Striking an underground utility can cause serious injury, service outages, costly repairs, and legal penalties. Whether you’re installing a fence, planting trees, or beginning a major construction project, state law requires you to contact 811 before you dig.

Simply dial 811 or visit Call811.com to submit a request online.

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

About

The Town of Medicine Park Comprehensive Plan serves as a long-term vision for the future of the community. It provides guidance for growth, development, and preservation while maintaining the unique character that makes Medicine Park special.

This plan reflects the voices of residents, business owners, and community members who shared their ideas, priorities, and feedback throughout the planning process. Public input—including community surveys and outreach efforts—played a key role in shaping the goals and direction of the plan.

The Town of Medicine Park extends its appreciation to everyone who participated and contributed their time and insight. Your feedback helps guide decisions that support the town’s continued growth, sustainability, and quality of life.

Special thanks to Lynn Null that has been our leader during the entire process!

Special thanks to the write of our comprehensive plan, Elvis Shepherd!

Thank you for your interest in helping Medicine Park develop its comprehensive plan. Citizen input is essential in creating the bright future we all desire.

During numerous meetings in the past year the Strategic Planning Task Force identified four Focus Areas for our Comprehensive Plan. These are:

  • Economic Development (includes image & marketing, tourism and business development)
  • Quality of Life (includes culture, health and wellness)
  • Land Use (existing and future, includes housing, parks and recreation, conservation and impact, compatibility)
  • Public Services (includes infrastructure, safety, transportation, utilities)

During the town’s public input session on June 23, 2021, the participants identified a number of key opportunities within these four focus areas.
